Project: Peace It Together: Strategies for Violence Prevention (16 part television series, website, curriculum kit) MCET received a grant from the Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act, a United States Department of Education initiative, to combat violence in the lives and communities of students nationwide. Peace It Together: Strategies for Violence Prevention, both the 16 part live, interactive satellite television series and the multiple-award-winning website, provides innovative strategies for teen violence prevention. The series and website give parents, teachers and students access to community leaders and violence prevention practitioners to gain knowledge about violence, its causes and methods of prevention and intervention. The Peace It Together Curriculum Kit is a comprehensive print and video compilation of the entire series. Peace It Together Community Center Web site screen shots Comments: "I wanted to create a virutal community center where people could network, build coalitions and advocate for teens. The site still gets over 20,000 hits a month (eventhough it is no longer active) and I know many people have connected throught the Let's Talk bulletin board." Paula Sincero, project leader.
